Using the search facility

1. Search for a local trader 

Just enter the trade or service you're looking for with your postcode or town/city into the boxes at the top of the page, and then click 'Search'.

2. Hiring the best trader

You are able to view trader profiles and reviews from previous customers. Once you have selected your endorsed or free trade member, you can instantly make contact by phone, email or text. If you prefer, post a job on the site and let traders leave a quote and message for you.

3. Discussing your requirements

It's time to discuss the details of your job or your hiring requirements. Once you have agreed on price/costs, a date/timescale for the work to be completed, it's time to hire.

4. Leave your feedback for a trader

Once your job or hire is complete, it's time to leave your feedback. We rely on customers just like you to highlight quality, reliability and value of our trade members. Feedback also promotes great service & workmanship and by sharing your review of a member, you have used helps excludes rogue.

Endorsed or free trade member what's the difference?

There are two types of trade members on Accredited Traders.

Endorsed trade members - Every Accredited Traders Endorsed trade member has been assessed and evaluated by an Accredited Traders assessment advisor, before being endorsed. You'll see the endorsed member logo on search results and member profiles, so whatever trade you're looking for, we'll help you find the right local trader, that are among the best in the business.

Free trade members - Are businesses or traders who have signed up for as free trade members. Free trade members aren't endorsed by Accredited Traders and won't display the endorsed member logo. Free trade members haven't applied for endorsed member status or undertaken an assessment on their business and haven't been evaluated so Accredited Traders can't guarantee the work or service offered.

Posting a job & leaving feedback

Registering for your free account

You will first need to register for a free personal account, enter your information. You will then receive a confirmation email, please click on the link within your email to activate your account.

Posting your job

If you would rather trade members contact you about your job, simply post your job on It will only take a minute or two, we do all the running around so that you don't have to! We'll tell you when trade members reply to your post. View interested trade members messages, profiles and reviews to see what they can offer and make your choice. We’ll never share your contact details without your permission.

When you post a job on Accredited Traders we will enter you in to our monthly draw you could win the valve of your job up to the valve of £1000.

To post your job simply:

  • Login to your account
  • Click on the 'Post a Job' tab
  • Enter your job title
  • Select your category from the drop down box, e.g. Plumber
  • Select your subcategory from the drop down box, e.g. Plumbing repairs
  • Select your county/city from the drop down box, e.g. London
  • Select your job postcode from the drop down box, e.g. N1

Traders use the information and the description to decide if they can do the work, so the more information you can provide the better
Please include as many of the following when posting your job:

  • Your preferred callback time? - daytime or evening
  • When you would like your job to start? - maybe within the next 7 days
  • Describe your job in as much detail as possible
  • The type of work you need?
  • If in your property, what room is the job in?
  • Will you provide all necessary materials or parts?
  • Add any additional details about your job
  • Your estimated budget if you have one? - if so is your budget flexible

Once our system has checked your job details, we will notify all matching traders with your posted job. You will then be able to see all interested businesses and tradespeople when you log back into your account.

Leaving feedback for a trade member

We encourage all customers who have hired one of our trade members to leave feedback. We never published your name or address when you leave feedback. All that we ask is that you register with us so we can verify your feedback, as we don't publish anonymous feedback either. 

Great reasons for leaving feedback

  • Feedback is a great tool to use when deciding who; you wish to hire.
  • Leaving feedback for a trader you have used, also proves to other potentials customers that our members are accountable for the work they carry out.
  • Your name or address will never be published
  • Whenever you leave feedback for a trade member you will automatically be entered in to our weekly draw to win £50

Leaving feedback for a trade member  

Leave feedback online, it's quick and simple and takes under two minutes to complete:

  • Login to your account
  • Search for the trader that you want to leave feedback for
  • Click on ‘Give Feedback’ for this member
